thats ccrazy. think i have 10? mainly WRC cars, never really bothered buying the expensive ones. i bought a 4x4 skoda fabia for myself, then all my mates can crash and break the crap ones.

its good fun buying the tighter bends and making a 4 lane track.

I built up a big Scalextric collection when I was a kid, bits for christmas, birthdays etc and sold it all off to buy my first racing bike when I was 14, which i then sold to buy my first motorbike resto at 15 that I then sold to buy my first car at 17 etc etc etc, so its thanks to Scalextric all those years ago that I now own an RS500 and now you have got me going full circle and thinking about getting another track for the attic

I used to be into scalextric in a big way as a kid had a few sets that would be worth a few bob now, had the racing rigs (Leyland Road Trains iirc) and the lorries with the trailers, had a Parmalat team artic which would fetch good dough now,

bought a few cars within the last few years including evo 7 and the old 3 door sierra police car, last sets I had were the world rally jobbie with the imprezza and focus and the subaru challenge set which had two imprezzas

all sold now though

ive got a road racing set here which is the black lambo diablo and ferrari f40. Also have mighty metro set altho the wires come off of the motor on one the cars. Anyone collecting this stuff? If anyone wants it come give me say 20quid and u can have it all.

some serious collections there, very nice indeed must admit i love 4x4 suspension based cars dakar ones are great

havent got any pics of the cars but some of the track

got an original mk1 escort rs1600 in brown, 2x mini clubmans 2x gt40's and have an audi a4 BTCC and a Laguna BTCC somewhere too (also wife got me 2 f1 cars one birthday)

track is made in the rafters of the attic, base is 16ft by 4ft has a mixture of classic and new track (all now rusty)

going to make a radio controlled battery powered car with sand paper pickups to clean the track

has anyone tried the new sport track? much much smoother, and you can buy an adaptor to join to the old style track too.

Sourced myself the adapter as I like the SCX action tracks like the ice skid curves but they were still on the old Scalextric connectors. Thes adapters let me use all the old stuff with my newer kit and means I have a fair amount of track at my disposal
