Personally, I am 99% sure that the Tigra would go out on a set of 888's and crack a high ten now.
Would be nice to manage that, but I don't think he wants to pay for ANOTHER set of tyres

I'd doubt that. The difference in grip between proper tyres and 888's really is like night and day.
On a 2wd car, 888's really arent that hot. Although they are probably among the best of that type of tyre.
When I used 888's at Santa Pod, it felt like driving on ice for the most part !! Think I ran mid 11's with them
On a car just breaking the limits of traction of a road tyre, they would perform well. But a car with the ability to break traction with ease, they arent that much better than road tyres.
Certainly not worth buying a pair to try !!

am going to get some cheap tyres to fit on my 14x9 steels and give it a shot on them for a giggle
