I can't believe how well it launches in the vid, I know it has proper drag slicks but even so! What's been done chassis wise?

and you are trying to give him advice?!?!?!!?!

like fitting another heavy engine and heavy gearbox and making the entire thing more heavy and complex?

9.8 in a road legal Fwd car on pump fuel says to me he has got things pretty sussed to me

Really?

surely just getting the brakes working is a simpler, cheaper, lighter and safer option?

I believe there are rules stating a car running over 150mph have to be fitted with a shute. (not sure if in competition or just general Strip rules)

Big step that though fitting one..

Id rather pursue looking at better brakes up front, but I guess braking from 150+ mph with 6 psi in the fronts is going to be a tad wobbly

Read the question,WOULD it be faster with a twin engine?I don't claim to know anything about drag racing hence why I asked.I'm just thinking that with the same,or similar specced engine in the rear it would help with traction and possibly 600+ bhp should overcome the extra weight of the engine /box set up.

As the cars used primarily/exclusively for 1/4 mile times,it may not require the same amount of engineering as if it were to be used as a track car say.

Im throwing some ideas into the guy,not giving advice.it's an achievement to get that power/times with major tuners behind you,let alone doing it all yourself.

If this guy was given some financial backing perhaps he could produce something even better than his current beast?

In fact, your clearly not short of a few quid,I reckon you could sponsor his progress to the next level?

He could even borrow the engine out of that red fiat cabriolet in your sig?

Kind of what I was expecting, pretty good but not the featherlite that some people probably think it is.

still a good 1/4 of a ton lighter than my nova though, lol

form what I remember, its basically standard other than coilover shocks and springs and jacking the back up, its on original rubber mounted arms etc still IIRC

You can see the wheels wobbling around in the arch where the bottom arms are moving, desperately needs a set of rosejointed arms IMHO

I understand quite clearly that I (that's me... not you or anyone else) aren't that impressed with him. He always promised so much and then struggles to deliver. The bogey was billed as an 8sec car when he built it. It never did it, then he changed it to a track car.
He always seems to struggle to get off the line on the strip even when he was doing 10sec passes, when others with similar or more power manage OK.
And then there's these.

Try reading people's posts correctly, before you give your usual
obnoxious and ill informed replies.

It's not the first time I have noticed you mis-reading what someone has posted before and replying to them in the manner of a bell end
