The difference between 9.2 at 164mph and 9.8 at 148mph is well and truly massive, and then some !

Whatever way you look at it, this Tigra has 300bhp less and is FWD. It is awesome to be only 0.6 seconds off the time of what is regarded as being one of, if not THE, best Evo in the UK, which was also built as a demo car for a tuning company.

what Stevie is saying to go from a 10 to a 9 is massive achievement but the lower you go in time the harder it gets where as an extra 100hp if you were running 11s would make a big difference but if you were running say 9.5 and to say get a 9.0 you may need another 200 to 250hp its so much harder the lower times you run to try and better it,Well done speccy awesome time ,i think its time i put nos on the old escort next year to see what time difference it will make

Believe me, I accept the point about the gains in power needed to improve upon times being exponential. It's the same with top speed, which I do happen to have some knowledge of. Massive gains in power are needed for an extra 1-2mph.
However, my point is that if you are saying that there is a world of difference between a 9.2 and 9.8, then it just makes a 10.2 sound MUCH less impressive and the FWD Ford boys best times of high 11's just seem positively snail-paced. Similarly, the chances of an already nigh-on 1000bhp 9.2 second car ever breaking into the 8's as highly unlikely.
It's all academic though, well done Specky.
