cosworth yb is basically a pinto block-2litre!!-or are you talking 1600?? in which case bin it--lol ---for size and weight theres better 1600s around

on a 2ltr pinto i think you would get well into the 150 bhp catergory plus. I remeber jamie from fast ford building one for his lightning rod and getting harvey gibbs to set it up as he does a lot of these for people and with a uprated cama dn i think a bit of a fiddle with the head and a better manifold he was well up there. only thing is he had to run standard manifold and dopwnpipe as that was the rules of that particular series. Phone scs at peterborough and see what they say. Im sure they would give a bit of advice. Or wait for J1mbo to come on here and maybe ask him nicely as thats where he works

decent 4 branch manifold and system, fast road cam, good service and more than likely a new spray bar as the clog very easily and twin carbs should see a 2l pinto to aroun 160-165 bhp so i'm told. should at least see 150 anyway. second hand parts should be well under your budget.

i got 187 @ the flywheel from mine ran a 13:72 but that was with standard motorcraft ignition and had a flat spot at 6k. never got round to putting the better ignition on as sold the car.. lil clip at pod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ot5Hd0KqOE

They're tuneable engines. I've seen ones run over 220 bhp on the dyno and the Harris' (HPE) regularly see that kind of power if you ask them nicely and have the money.

150 bhp out of one is a bit more realistic in your budget though it can be done very easily.

What increase in power will i see if i bolt a Cosworth Yb head to my 2.0L pinto engine in my sapphire and fit a pair of dell`orto 45s and a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold ?
