I've been looking at T2 ecus recently and I've spotted one second hand with a loom.

What are they worth and is there anything I should be asking before buying?

You should be asking if the ecu needs a dongle to allow you to map it, quite a few out there do. Get the serial no. and ask Pectel.

 

Would it still need one if I was getting a tuner to map it?

Hopefully taking it to nms.

If the ECU is encrypted and needs a dongle then Karl (or anyone else without the dongle) wont be able to access the ECU, this can be sorted by Pectel but they know how to charge! It needs to open developer.

You can get the lead from Ryan at Car Looms for not alot of money.
I sold my T2 ECU with loom for YB engine and a CD with Descpro and all the profiles i had for Ł800

This is up with a loom for 450, altbough the loom will need modifying to suit the YB.

He has replied saying that you only need the lead and software to map it and they never used a dongle. He is going to his engine builder tomorrow night to see if he has them.

Is it worth the 450?
How much is the loom going to cost me?
