Cool, just wondered if you'd remap to suit the more efficient cooler and look for more power etc

In some cases yes,you can get more ignition in there and yeild even more power but in steves case i think if the boost climbs a bit it will be fine as like iv said hes got a bit of excess fuel at top anyway and plus we will have det cans on so no worries there..
If i were to put a spec r on my escos for example id go right through the map again just to check fueling boost and ignition and optimise it throughout..
cheers danny

Sounds like an interesting test. I still fancy a RS500 style intercooler for mine.

Ye i'd really like to see how the Spec R one performs, as i'm very tempted to get one but it is rather costly.

This will be interesting to see! My bro's just had a spec-r fitted to his evo 6 with very good results! For the standard of tune it made 20bhp and 30ftlb more than was expected.
Heres the link..

superb result for the spec r but we were expecting it to be better anyway - the key is how well the airtec does

The gist of it is this:
The airtec is good value for money upto 450hp, but was making the car surge a bit, so is right on it's limit at that power level
Put the Spec-R on and there was no surge at all
Don't forget the airtec has been modded with different pipework which helps it too
