Hello I've just completed installing a BOA cosworth v6 in my 2.8 capri. I had the engine loom modified by Caprisport and have wired it in as per their instructions, came to start her up today for the first time and Iam not getting any spark, just wandered if anyone has any ideas, I have double checked all my connections and have good earths. Can the EDIS module be checked in any way? thanks

Make sure you have 12v+ at pin 8 of the edis, black wire on the coil pack plug and if you still have the plug for the kick down switch one of those should be 12v too, then check pin's 37 + 57 on the ecu for ignition live and pin 1 for perm live.
ECU pins 20,40 and 60 should all be earth
Let me know how ya go

Just done a quick check on the EDIS got 12v power, but nothing on the coil pack black wire, so must be the supply to that ? will have more time to check it over properly at the weekend. Cheers

yes mate! the coil pack black has to be 12v live to work 100% sure of that, no power there means no spark!

Thanks chaps ive just had her running, bit of a silly error really, I had forgotten to join the original capri ignition coil feed when I took the balast resistor out.!!! Only a couple of minor probs, a metallic noise like the cam chain rubbing on the cover, could this be oil pressure ???? I had the covers off for re-painting and uses boost performance gaskets so should be correct clearance, also the rev counter is not working - hopefully I can sort this easily. Appreciate all your good advise.
Regards Ian
will post a photo when I can work out how to do that !

Was the car a v6 to start with? if not do you have the v6 rev counter in place?
The only way that may work is to use this;
http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d31.html
You want the item second from bottom of the page will only cost £14.99 + a bit of post.
If you try it let me know as i have a capri to do just before christmas and it will mean i can just order it and not worry
