i have a donor van and have removed lock set including ignition, and key reader arround it. what else do i need to fit these to my van is there a brain on these its a 2001 55d none turbo

That case it will be fine but any other combination it won't work.
You can just swap the little sender unit within the key to a new key if you've snapped it in the ignition etc.
Double check it hasn't been bypassed first as I've had a few escort vans/diesels and they've all been bypassed!!
Just remove the ign switch from where the key goes in and turn it with a screwdriver etc and you'll soon tell if it works or not!!

Cheers mate just the key reader around the ignition me van wont start in the morning red light starts flashing fast first thing every morning so jump start it then all day no probs. Cant work it out turns but wont fire up its like the van forgets the key over night. Changed the starter Battery. primmer pump filters. Just dont know...

Key reader around the lock makes no odds at all - That's a universal part across the board for the PATS system. It's the ECU (if fitted) and fuel pump that need changing with a key.
