Default RIP to 2 brave dog lovers.

After reading a few posts on here in the last 3-4 months about people mistreating dogs just thought i would post this up to show that there are still some decent dog owners out there. Unfortunately these 2 guys paid the ultimate price for a dog.

RIP to both lads and condolences to their families.

The river doesn't look that dangerous, but looks like theres a weir there though so would have strange currents that would fuck you. It's a kick in the bollocks the dog got out unharmed Brave lads.

shows proper love for the animal that they both jumped into save it. i guess its a lesson to keep your dog on a lead when it could be in danger.... rip to the lads.

what's so sad about the story is jumping in to save the dog was the wrong thing to do as the dog swam to the bank on its own and was fine.

still does not distract from the two guys losing their lives attempting to save the dog

Sorry guys, I'm a dog-lover too, but putting not one but two lives in jeopardy over a dog just isn't sensible.

No risk-assessment, special training or equipment. The fire brigade wouldn't have gone in after the mutt and neither should they.

Dogs are pretty good swimmers and this one got out alive while the two guys didn't. If they had paused and thought they could all have been home in time for tea with doggy in tow and no harm done, but now there are bereaved families.

Most people don't think like that, much like if a child was drowning in that very same place. You wouldn't stop to risk assess, you'd act! Its daft, but that's reality.

The "risk assessment, special training or equipment" bit wasn't entirely serious.

But I really don't think any human life should be risked to rescue a pet.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but I'd kill to keep my dogs safe, as they would to protect me. They're good boys
