Like the title says chaps.
89' ERST, any obvious signs that the clutch is on it's way out?
I won't say why I suspect it needs replacing as I'm interested to hear different peoples opinions before I give my own.
Replacement clutch recommendations for around 200bhp at the fly are welcome too, mostly fast road use, not after a race/track spec..
Thanks in advance,
Big-Dan.

You may get a whirring noise from a worn release bearing. If its slipping it will squeal like a pig when you press or release the pedal and may be difficult to change gears.
I got a helix organic clutch from rallynuts for about £300 and is more than capable of handling the power and retains a good pedal feel.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
high biting point and heavy pedal are first signs assuming nothing has changed regarding clutch cable/linkages
when it actually starts to slip its way gone or not upto the job in the first place (ie: coping with extra power and needs replacing for uprated item)

Okay, thanks for all your replies.
I knew the clutch would slip under heavy load from the day I bought it but as I don't give it much shit it hasn't been a problem at all, until now I think.
There are 2 issues which concern me and lead me to believe the clutch needs changing, one is that when stationary sometimes I hear a noise which I can only describe as sleigh bells, it's not there all the time and is mostly present when I'm crawling along in traffic or stationary as already stated.
The other issue is that when travelling at 60+ on the way back from work I've noticed the speedo needle is swaying a couple of miles either side of the true speed I'm travelling at.
I'll try and record some audio of the bell noise in the morning so you all can have a listen, I have noticed a screeching sound too which I was told could be the fan belt?

easiest way to check the fan belt is pop the bonnet with the engine off and push down on the top of the belt if it moves down loads either go for a new belt if it looks worn or just undo the bolt on the alternater, bung a pry bar between that and the block to put tension on it and tighten the bolt back up
