Took the kids conker picking the other week, got about 500 conkers, then took them to a local park to feed them to the squirells. well ive just took them conker picking again as they have been winging to go feed the squirells again.

went a bit OTT this time, spent an hour and half picking them up, and 20 minutes counting them. 1236 to be precise










Most of them were on the floor next to the trees. that didnt happen when i was a kid and im only 32. you had to climb the tree to get them when i was a kid, as there were kids hoovering them up as soon as they dropped. they all got iphones, ipods and ps3's these days though

im laying some laminet in a few weeks, so im fitting new skirting boards

feel free to come and count them if you want. they have been counted, and recounted, by an indipendant adjuctor, (wor lass), she counted 1239, but i trust my maths more than hers

and actually, why would i lie about the number ffs, and if i was, i could come up with abetter number than 1236

bloody hell, when i was a kid i had my mum drive around all the local parks hunting for conkers and me climbing trees to find some, and spend like all weekend searching and only find about five! lol!

My son and daughter came back with a plastic bag full the weekend from a weekend at the inlaws.

yes kev. believe it or not, i got all of these conkers, across the road from my kids school. they banned conkers last year. i said to my bairn, take some to school, she replied, and i quote

'were not allowed, james henderson got hit in the eye with one last year'


obviously, in this day and age, health and safety will have a field day if kids take conkers to school, god forbib
