I know every little bit counts when trying to shave off weight, but 16 steel wheel nuts is not going to break the bank compared to the safety margin they have over lighter alloy ones?

Remember that Ecos that lost a wheel at FF this year......

Alloy ones are banned for racing. Stick with steel.

The Ecos lost a wheel, mind you, I think he was running 1 short on that rim.....

But they need to be well looked after and do fatigue much much quicker then steel ones.

Titanium is bad for using on high stress areas, such as for wheel nuts, so I'd advise against this!

Unless at high level racing just use steel, would love to know the weight difference though, can't imagine you'd notice it ?

as danny said, there is such little weight difference in them, just get the steel one.

if you want alloy ones tho, ive got 16 genuine ford ones with the rotating collars for sale cheap, they didnt fit my wheels so no use to me

Ally ones are used allot in jap fitments. Do not gun them up, tourque them, the again afyer 10 miles. The problem arises (this is refering to racing not road) when the breaks heat up it is in theory possible for the heat expansion to strip the threads of ally nuts. At m12 your only looking at 1.5 mm thread thickness, as a machinest, trust me, that's fuck all. Stick to steel for relaibility.
