Has anyone on here been caught drink driving?

One of the girls here at work has been caught apparently 5 times the limit?? (rumour mill)

isnt that prison!?

what is she likely to get if that was the case? she's only early twenties

fanny rubs from the girls in prisoner cell block H ?!?

 

Doubt she'll get prison if its first offence at this level... probably looking at a 2 year ban because of the level of alcohol in her system.

Yeah, couple of year ban is most likely outcome, she'll probably only get prison if she then ignores that ban or has previous already

A girl was caught drink driving at my old job, she got a 12month(or so) ban, a fine, and she had to go on a course thingy aswell.

 

5 times the limit.!?!?!!? only tipsy then.

I have never been done but my mate got done about 5 years ago, he got a 2 year ban but dropped down to 18 months after he took the course.

5 times over the limit? that sounds quite high going off what my mate did a few months ago, he was 3 times over (he said limit is 35 and he got 109) he got 2 years ban, but has just done a course which knocks 25% off so 18 months in total (have to pay for the course though) hes a twat for doing it, he drank a bottle of bacardi and a few pints of strongbow over a night then decided to drive his car and got pulled up within a couple of minutes. So i dont even want to think what she drank to get 5 times over!!! from what my mate said about the course, if you blow over 116 on the test it is possible to get custodial weather its first offence or not.

 

I'd say it would be a hefty ban and a big fine. They may impose Community service as well.

 

If shes from Scotland, she was probably just on her way to work after her 'morning breakfast'

 

face her up to the realities of it and tell her that your internet lawyers have said that it's between 6 months and 2 years in clink with a 5 year ban afterwards and then 11 years with the points on her license

that way, when she finds out it's not, she'll be in love with you

Fella I worked with got caught a few years ago.

Blew 109, he got a £400 fine, 3 year ban and had to do a drivers awareness course which got the ban down to 2.5 years.

Before he could get his licence back he had to see the doctor for proof etc.

Amazingly unlikely to have blown 175, even if she did, if she can show duress/necessity of circumstance she will likely avoid a custodial sentence, in the event it really was 175 bye bye freedom is the most likely outcome, for up to 6 months, along with up to £5K fine, and a minimum 12 month ban, unless the magistrates refer it to crown court, very unlikely though but sentences are/can be made harsher.
If caught again within 10 years then it is 3 years minimum ban, but any ban over 2 years can be appealed after 1/2 has been served.

interestingly though there does seem to be a different attitude to drink driving up in the scottish highlands. Same in ireland too. I was actually quite appalled at peoples attitudes that it was ok to drive home after 6 or 7 pints in the pub drinking all evening and thier only excuse was "its safer than walking down the lanes and i aint paying for a taxi".

Warren, given the number of drunk drivers on those lanes, its no wonder taxis are charging a fortune to drive down them and that people dont want to walk.

Anyway, the Magistrates' Court sentencing guidelines say 100 is the custody threshold, but it still remains the sentencing bench's choice.

2-3 year ban with a suspended sentence seems likely. But if she really did blow 175 (how the fuck was she even able to open her car door, let alone drive ) you have to say custody is a strong outcome.

 

Five times over?She must be about my size (20 stone) or a severe alchy to even get into the car in some way!!!

My apprentice blew 68,just below double and got an 18 month ban,£150 fine,but you lose a quarter if you go on the driver awareness course,but there was a lad in there that blew 138 and was banned for 3 years etc but he`d just been caught while on THAT ban so was looking at jail,stupid twat!

 

over here it would be 6 months inside five years off road massive fine and at the end a retest!

 

The legal limit is 35 mg in 100 ml of breath or 80 mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood... My brother blew 41 and got 18 months.

So if she was 5 times the limit 175mg seems an awful lot!

 

Poor girl, not only did Dave misled her with "You wanna come round mine for a Coffee" he didn't even have the decentcy to let her stay the night and sent her on her way cunted and full of jizz.
