Default Sierra 2wd cosworth shocks!!

Ive just been told the rear suspension on my coswrth is well and truely ........ dead.

I looked into Gaz coilcover kits but heard the ride is very hard!

Koni shocks and a decent set of springs such as Ahmed's, I don't really believe in the coil overs and then you have the expense.

I have just done my back suspension and put standard shocks back on as I don't want the aftermarket stuff, I still have my Koni's although one is no good, but the other is good.

If you want you can have the Koni's of me FOC (So NOT a for sale post to the mods) although as I say one needs reconditioning but I don't know anyone that does this, if not this offer applies to anyone so long as you can collect otherwise I will be scrapping them.

The rear is supposed to be set to be a little softer otherwise the stiffer it is the more it skips about the shop

Coilovers can be good I am lead to believe but it all depends on the spring rating .Konis and Ahmeds would be way forward for me.I have GAZ coilovers on my car and they are waaaayyyy to hard imo.

Thanks for the help people,

They only thing I was thinking was with the Gaz coilover kit I would be able to adjust the height back to standard and set to a soft setting?

I have already changed the springs to get the standard height back but it still sits lower than my mates 3 door

Is the car you are comparing it with standard? Aftermarket Std height springs despite the name are usually lower slightly.

I've used avo springs for over 10 years with no problem, prefer the avo std ride height to the ahmed have used both, but prefer my avo coilys over both.

Do you think the ride will be very hard on Gaz coilovers? going to set it at standard height.

Mine is at standard height,17's and strut braced front and rear.I have tried full soft too full hard and I just seem to get the same outcome. You find yourself seriously pothole watching I must say though as I did not fit them so I have no idea what the spring ratings are.
Imo the Gaz are a budget coilover.I personally would go with the above of K&A.

I have the Koni sport adjustable shocks with AVO chassis dynamic springs which are standard ride height (pretty much same height as original ford ones) but they are supposed to be 30% uprated which work very well as when you give it big licks the exhaust doesn't hit the road anymore ha, i use mine on the road with a few trackdays a year poly bushing the whole car makes a big different especially with a Group A diff mount which often gets over looked

I run 200lb 12" rear and 300lb 9" front on mine in case that helps, but feel the rear is too soft.
