hi all, thanks for your help recently. passed my test yesterday. now i can use my mk1 focus for more than just lessons. having a couple of minor issues, my car is making an annoying ding every few mins, but my seatbelt is firmly in place?.
worse still ..today i put my headlights on,alls fine, but it started to rain,so put my wipers on, but they will only move slowly whilst my headlights are on,turn lights off, wipers speed up?.
i was wondering, as ive only been using my car for lessons, untill now, could my battery be low?. car was used for a couple of hours a week since april.
thanks

Well done! now you can start to feel the pain of losing money into cars :P
If it is a ding for the seat belt put the passenger belt in as well and see if it does it.
if your not sure what the dong is for i have no clue, I had a mk1 focus and never heard a ding ever.
As for the wipes, I have no clue again! just as you use your car it should charge the battery, so try it in a couple of days.
Sorry could not really help as such.

thanks, i will try that. its the same kind of ding that happens when you exit the car, without turning lights off.v strange.
as for my wipers, they didnt work at all this morn with my lights on,turned off my headlights though, and they worked. v confused. even more confusing for me,
my abs and parking lights are both always on. my model doesnt have abs. just put new clocks in. as the previous clocks had been messed with by the previous owner, who had stuck white dials in. thanks again.

SSounds like you have some electrical gremlins I'm afraid. May be a simple fix but without the cra in front of me I can't offer much help.
Congrats on passing your test though, now you start learning how to drive

being in the car by myself is a bit scary, especially with my car dinging at me, and me praying it doesnt rain and get dark, lol.think im gonna get the alternator looked at, none of my other electrics have stopped,cd player etc, only the wipers when i turn on my headlights.very strange.
and just for the record, i have to say... roundabouts are bloody scary..

well done on passing your test ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
get a multi meter and check voltage on battery with engine running it should be around 14.8 volts anything lower means new alternator needed
also check the voltage of the battery with engine off anything less than 12volts means its shagged and needs replacing
