valve cut outs (info)
just looking for some help, im rebuilding my engine and just wondering how deep i need the valve cut outs to be the lift on the cams is 9.5mm not sure wat cams they are cheers for any help thanks

I don't know what cam it is either the bd14 is 8.91mm, the bd15 is 10.03mm, std(bd8) is 8.5mm, I wouldn't worry about how much the people doing the cut outs will know how much, but seemingly 2mm would be plenty, they ideally need a pattern though to copy the cutouts if no head to hand etc.
Shop around a lot as prices vary hugely, within 15 miles of myself one wanted £144 + vat, ie £169.20, my usual machine shop did them for £45, same job etc all 16 cut outs done for £45 versus £170!!
