Otherwise known as cable pulling yeah? I know of a few lads that used to do it, the money was good but the hours and conditions not so. They used to do it when they needed a cash boost and then knock it on the head!!

my old man is a data fitter
fits cat5e cat 6 also and he has his own brand of cabnits and cable managments
ive helpd him a few times now in london offices just a quck hint dont mix the cables up and no. them 1by1 more than twice its hard work but easy at the same time goodluck you wont be dissapointed
my dads company universal cables

you will need a few punchdown tools ie crome make the best but dont by cheap ones as the switch panels always pull back out

Sounds the same. If it's guaranteed hours and you're on a full time contract then go for it. Round here it was always temporary contracts so only any good for a quick money fix and you were treat like shit.

I used to be a data cabler bout 10 years ago, started on my first job in an office block above Holborn tube, within two weeks I was running the job! Just under 2000 cables all terminated to 6 lab racks. As long as your methodical about labelling and numbering the cables it's a piece of piss. The hardest part is working in older buildings with no risers or ducting and having to find a way through. I really enjoyed it tbh, the money was good when the work was there but being a contractor meant you'd be flat out for a month then not have any work for a couple of weeks, so it kinda evened out the money. I still do the odd minor cabling job which gets me away from the support desk for a few hours.
