Otherwise known as cable pulling yeah? I know of a few lads that used to do it, the money was good but the hours and conditions not so. They used to do it when they needed a cash boost and then knock it on the head!!

i used to do this not to bad a job if you like sweating above offices and another hint dont make a birds nest of the cables as you spend halfthe day sorting them out
i think its installing the cat 5 data cabling in offices and terminating them in the server room?
Sounds the same. If it's guaranteed hours and you're on a full time contract then go for it. Round here it was always temporary contracts so only any good for a quick money fix and you were treat like shit.
Ive been doing it for a while, im looking into doing more of the fibre side of things now tho thats the way everything seems to be going and there is good money in it.
lol got boxes and boxes at work, all different colour depending on the VLAN for the different equipment (pc data, VOIP, CCTV, Access control, catering, digital signage, wireless, etc etc)
thanks but i fed the cables and tested , i never terminated them to the patch panel nor did i sleeve them
we had 2 faults with two cross on green white and other there was one not punch dowm at patch end what a nightmare that was
out in all weathers-so much a metre-working in a gang-
--on your hands and knees under a desk on a nice carpet in an office enviroment in the the warmth!!-sound ok???
BACK IN THE TRENCH-PLAYTIME OVER-YOU JUST WOKE UP.
I sell all the cables and acc's for a living !!! if you need any I can get you a very good price. Im based in london and sell to alot of users in London, kent and Essex.
I used to be a data cabler bout 10 years ago, started on my first job in an office block above Holborn tube, within two weeks I was running the job! Just under 2000 cables all terminated to 6 lab racks. As long as your methodical about labelling and numbering the cables it's a piece of piss. The hardest part is working in older buildings with no risers or ducting and having to find a way through. I really enjoyed it tbh, the money was good when the work was there but being a contractor meant you'd be flat out for a month then not have any work for a couple of weeks, so it kinda evened out the money. I still do the odd minor cabling job which gets me away from the support desk for a few hours.
