I used to be a data cabler bout 10 years ago, started on my first job in an office block above Holborn tube, within two weeks I was running the job! Just under 2000 cables all terminated to 6 lab racks. As long as your methodical about labelling and numbering the cables it's a piece of piss. The hardest part is working in older buildings with no risers or ducting and having to find a way through. I really enjoyed it tbh, the money was good when the work was there but being a contractor meant you'd be flat out for a month then not have any work for a couple of weeks, so it kinda evened out the money. I still do the odd minor cabling job which gets me away from the support desk for a few hours.
