Thats a feature with 99% of diesel engines, the amount of blow-by gasses in a diesel (due to the much higher combustion pressures) means the oil gets contaminated very quickly. It also means the inside of the engine is simply black with particles of diesel soot. So as soon as you pour the new oil in the top and it runs all the way to the bottom it's nearly always black in an instant.

Why remove the wheels on previous services if it's not needed? Assuming you can see the brake pads and discs sufficently then what is removing the wheels going to achieve?
