Andrews has been convicted of causing the woman actual bodily harm and is expected to be dismissed from his job.

That statement to me, means she was acting like an arsehole and was been out of order. As much as the Police are there to protect people, there not there to be a piss heads verbal/punch bag.

i do agree with you that she might have been playing up quite a bit but all the police had to do was put her in restraints!

Should of been done propperly with 3 coppers moving the prisoner - 2 on the arms holding them in "Swannecks" to stop her from causing a problem and one on the legs. Should of carried her in, layed her down and then the last restraining officer should of been pulled out of the cell by his belt.

At the very worst a distraction punch on the arm to take her mind off causing a problem but smacking her face into the floor is absolutely outrageous!

Absolutely gobsmacked and shocked at the footage!

I don't think it's a big deal, too much pussy footing about in the UK these days. Not being funny but she's obviously acting up, if your willing to act a fool, you deserve it. She's a grown women and should know better.

I really don't get why people kick off when they are in a police station, bit late at that point.

Police dish out far worse in other countries. Maybe if people knew you'd get a bit of rough treatment from the coppers they would treat them with more respect and stop fucking about.

I'm all for the coppers giving proper scrotes a bit of a kicking when the situation calls for it but that was just out of order. She's a 59 year old woman for god's sake! He wasn't exactly having difficulties moving her.

dragging her across the floor - not sure about, but depending on how difficult she was being, in some cases i think that may have been seen as "reasonable"

flinging her into the cell, again, depending on the circumstances, could also be seen as "reasonable"

so if you take that as the case, the fact that she fell on her face and smashed it to shit could be seen as "her fault"

having read the bit of news regarding the incident though and looking at the video footage available, i think the coppers probably got a bit pissed off with her and dealt with her in the same pissed off manner and her reslutant injuries were caused simply by him not giving a shit, if he'd put her into the cell and not thrown her, things wouldn't have been as they were

you would say that sort of behaviour to a druggie scrote was teaching them a lesson, but for this old woman it's over the top, so you either have to treat them all the same or treat them all the same

all you needed was for epic beard man to come in and give it some jibber jabber and mr amberlamps friend to tell her she was leaking all over the place

sorry but ive had my face planted off the floor due to "being restrained" when i never needed too, i had a rubber trunchen pelted against my thigh and the other officer grabbed my hair pulled me down that my face hit the floor first,,,,,,,, oh and my best mate had hes thumb broke by the old bill when it was 18 years old when they was "restraining" him

happens im afraid, police cuffed me once " as a precation we do it to everyone" and then a note was made in court " we had to handcuff him to get him in custody" which was bollox

he went WAY too far hence he has been done for ABH otherwise it would be called "reasonable force" like mine was ,,, sorry but coppers are ment to pass a aptitude test aint they ?
