Default Cossy or Focus RS1

The garage needs filling up again

What's a stage 1'ish(?) Focus RS compared to a stage3 Cossy/3 door like?

Fancy having one or the other but not sure which one.

For and against? I'm not sure if I want the days of Cossy paranoid again but it'll be garaged more often than not so won't have to rely on whichever to be an everyday car.

After 10 years of 2wd Cossie ownership I've swapped to a Focus..... trust me I WILL NEVER own another Cossie...!!!!

Focus RS gets my vote...

Lol at the fwd=fail......broken record, Frs is a superb car to drive/way better looking than a saph cossie and might not break quite so often either! Stage 3 cossie will be a LOT faster though in most cases
Frs though for sure if it's between that or a saph anyway

You'd be suprised how quick a GENUINE 300bhp with similar torque FRS is compared to a Stage 3 Cossie, trust me i know... yes it'll start to lose out @ higher speeds, but that's JAIL then anyway....

A similar powered FRS vs Cossie round track, my money would be on the FRS!!

Wallets waiting Think there all going to pretty much the same price wise.

Ideally a smokestone 4x4 or 3dr running late 300 early 400bhp. Wouldn't bother with an EsCos as over priced for what they are IMO.

Still not sure on FRS as newer and improved (reliability?).

I hated it when I sold my EsCos recently and bought an Evo8 that the Escort went past easily.

Anyone near to Reading with a FRS so I can see what it goes like?

Fifth gear compared standard FRS against standard escos a few years back around a dry track. Despite the 4wd the escos was quicker. I'm sure it's on YouTube. Both great cars though so recon you'll be pleased with either, even if you go for the slower FRS!

Yup!

The pecking order goes> RWD, 4x4, Motorcycle, FWD

And I have a RWD saff as well. Don't forget the Cossie 4x4 is 66/34 split to the rear anyway

got to agree with you there pete , after years of cossies i bought a 300 odd brake focus rs and they drive perfect and are much more useable that a cossie imo

with the correct mods these cars shock alot of fast cars as theres no lag .

and as said above once you,ve driven or owned a frs you,ll never go back to a cossie

just a pity i dont get to use mines as much as i,d like to due to working thats why its for sale

How much did that roughly cost to get to that and was it ok to drive still? Sometimes you find that when you mod some stuff it drives awful and unbearable but you put up with as it's quick, if you know what I mean?

id say i roughly spend around the 4-5k bracket...in the end mine made 411bhp and it drove shit..but around the 330-360 it was a joy to drive tbh.

i had said to myself that 400bhp was the goal, but from speaking to a few people, i reckon 350bhp would be a better drive, and that can be had on a simple to fit hybrid and with some re-mapping

my new tubular manifold should be delivered this week
