The whole point of tracker installations is they go somewhere random, no point putting them all in the same place otherwise they're too easy to rip out. You just have to start stripping the interior until you find it. Could be behind the dash or rear quarter trim or boot etc. Once you find it trace the wires back to wherever they're spliced into the loom and remove them from there, recover the loom with some heatshrink or self-amalgamating tape.

you could always use one of them drain clamps to follow the wires
i'm not sure what they are called but they have a readout and a spring loaded claw thing that detects current drain
got to be easier than poking a tester into random wires looking for the power

My one is around that age and even left for 4 weeks still starts with it and cat 1 being left, it does turn over ever so slightly slower but nowhere near slow enough not to start, maybe just get a decent battery ?, if not used much try a AGM battery will be a massive improvement but kill the wallet!!

the device your looking for is called a clip on ammeter, but if youve got an okayish multimeter, you`ll have an ammeter on that. I`m with tabetha that its highly unlikely to be a tracker causing it,mine wasnt activated on the scooby for years and it never drained my battery once, again with a cat 1 etc on it.
The ammeter section of your meter usually requires you to swap the red lead into a different part of your multimeter and you then put it into series with your car battery to see how much current your battery is draining.
If you then start to remove fuses the current should drop off when you find the faulty circuit and then you can trace it back from there.Usually its something like a boot light staying on but i`ve known heated rear screens to get stuck on with a faulty switch contact but not display on the switch/dash etc.An old sound system not removed correctly can also cause probs.

Mine is a trackstar, the other tracker isn't though, I've used these for nearly 15 years and never had issues.
A lot get blamed when not at fault, alarms with lots of add ons, ie cliffords etc can take a serious hammering to your battery.
For the record I use a VARTA BLUE DYNAMIC battery 095, 72ah, cost me Ł50, but 5 year warranty.

if you find the box probe the wires til you find the live 1 then cut and tape it, dont fuck with the rest of the wiring, just take out the feed
may need to put it back 1 day too
i know very little about trackers but i do know if you wanted to get round one Ł50 buys you the kit to do it off many websites

Mine was a proper tracker so maybe thats why it was ok?you can still test it all the same way as unless its wired absolutely directly from the battery or ignition perm live then its more than likely been put through a fused circuit somewhere,if its for something you dont use very often then you could just remove the fuse therefore disabling the wiring to it,save ripping it all out then.

our vans have trackers in them, with a chip and everything with live data recall etc
Ł7 a month for the sim and it's been the fault of many a battery drain as it's on ALL the time, with the engine running it transmits every 30 seconds or so, with the engine off it transmits every hour so after a few days sitting on the side it kills the battery

thers deff 2 trackers on this car the one ive found is a DanTrack DT-100 here is a right up in 2003 from the scooby net..
http://bbs.scoobynet.com/security-16...o-car2car.html
and says..
Communication between you and your DanTrack DT-100 is extremely convenient and fast: simply use your GSM. Call your DanTrack DT-100, or send an SMS, and within seconds you will see the accurate coordinates in the telephone display. This puts you in full control because you can track your vehicle within a margin of only 15 metres – anywhere on earth.
1. You read the exact coordinates in the display of your GSM phone.
2. Then you look up www.dantrack.com on your computer and enter the coordinates.
3. DanTrack’s WebMap flashes a clear, red dot at the exact location of your vehicle – wherever you are in Europe.
NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES
One investment is all it takes to secure your valuables in future.
There are no alarm centres involved. You are in full control thanks to the direct communication between you and your DanTrack DT-100. So a DanTrack DT-100, a SIM card from your telecom and DanTrack’s WebMap are all it takes to know exactly where your vehicle is. And gone are all the other costly tracking solutions.
so this is deff not a tracker as in www.tracker.com.. so there must be 2
