Default my gti keeps losing power

my escort gti keeps losing power,when i start it up it idels fine but when i press the accelerator it chugs and sputters,went a run yesterday its intermitent when it warms up,but then when its starts playing up it just goes flat chuggs,if i take my foot off the gas and let the revs come rite down to idel speed some times this cures it for a while,disconected the battery to reset the ecu no change ,any ideas whats wrong,thanks daz

M.A.F Sensor? no air leaks in the hoses, can get one from a scrappy or cheap one on ebay, sure if you unplug it, it may rev up, it will be down on power but revs maybe more consistant

sounds like an air problem as mentioned ,iscv,maf,air flow meter ,hosesthrottle body or iscv gaskets etc etc ?
