Default MK2 Focus?

anybody know what these are like, (the 1.6, 1.8 models) for reliability?

My sister needs to trade to a cheaper car to run that is more practical with the kids, so selling her CTR and looking for someone more in keeping with her situation.

Been looking at the mk2 focus and you can pick them up for about 5k which is about what she would get for her ctr.

The mk2 appealed as also she wont be getting a heavy spec'd car, they look pretty modern inside and out.

Anyone got any views on them in terms off issues, especially at the 5k area for a 2005 plate with around 50k on the clock?

Great car to drive

Check the bottoms of the doors and arch edges for rust bubbles starting. Engines last forever if looked after aswell.

So so much comfier than an astra i kid you not, astras a good looker but not comfy i find, bad backache after being in one for a short while

I had a 56 plate 1.6 as a company car..... Excellent car all-round. My wife now has a 1.6 56 plate but is automatic which IMO makes it a little gutless on comparison to the manuel .

I've a 05 1.6 Ti-VCT engined one. Only real issue I've had was the power steering high pressure hose leaking. Other than that, great car

just been to have a look at one, 05 plate with 35k and full service history. It's a trade in car being sold by a main dealer so sold as seen but with 3 months warranty on the engine and box.

1.6 auto, my only concern was that the underside of the engine looked a bit oily?
