I saw a white Astra GTE today aswell mate in Cambridge, was crossing zebra crossing on way to work and nearly got run over by it! old lady was driving it and she had a blue rinse!!! the lenght of time it took her to break in time i could have had a shower, shit and a shave! lol

Last week in the scrappy there was a MINT, and i dont use that word lightly, Nissan bluebird saloon.

original panels, everything and super clean. the interior wasn't even marked, spare never been out but it was very dusty. i'd guess it was owned by an old boy and he died, leaving the family to dig it out of the garage after a few years.

there was also a very clean metro 1988, seriously there wasn't even a bubble on the rear arches. it was a timewarp. but sentiment runs short in the scrapyard and it was promptly picked up with the forklift and stacked waiting to be decontaminated

both were probably worth a few bob to the right people, and i dont mean the banger boys

Seems to me that vauxhalls havent stood the test of time well, ford are bad but vauxhalls seem worse e.g mk1 astras they are mega rare now!

Spotted an Opel Manta on the way to work today, looked to be a tidy one too.

Also near the girlfriends house in Crosby there is an Orion sat up someones drive that aint moved for ages, it looks to be pretty straight but could be rotten underneath.

I'd say vauxhalls stood the test of time far better,I'd bet my bottom dollar none of the above old skool vaux had been resto'd like near enough 90% of the old skool fords we see on the road!!

Back to topic,saw an Mg meastro on Tuesday,looked rough but was taxed so assuming ok?also saw a 1960's vauxhall viva in for Mot this week,was mint but I think resto'd(to contradict my above statement).there's a lovely gte 16v in on the scrappage scheme in pic up spares,flame red,rear arches good too.saw a couple of corrados last week,starting to get rare now,always loved the look of them.
