Just read the whole post! I don't know Martin or Pugo.....But heres what I think.

Pugo you shouldn't start slagging Martin off when its nothing to do with the topic, if you want to slag him off, do it to his face! People stick up for him because they like him/respect his work. Sounds to me like you wish people admired you for your achievements, but how can they when you make yourself sound like a complete cock!!!

right read all thru this and heres my two pennyth worth

If I wanted to sell my car I HAVE got a timming slip that says 0-60 in 2.99 secs I have timing slips for the quarter that say 11.5 and 1.6 60fts now if I was selling and stating times i would advertise the fact it had means of backing these claims up which the fiesta advertiser hasnt done or offered to prove to someone who may have been interested in buying the car if they were true.

BUT I would be the first to admit that my car probably aint a true sub 3 sec car, just the gear it was timmed on was "leniant" (or maybe i just got everything right on the day )

My car aint slow in fact it fookin quick acceleration, I dont doubt the car got the power but what always let it down is having to change gear so even if the fiesta got super low gearing how he gonna change quick enough to do the time quoted

Now if someone come up to me and offered me 2 grand to prove it could do that time I would be well up for it

To me all the guy has done is blatantly lie to try and sell his car

I aint in the Reyland supporters club, yes i have respect for what he has achieved, but wouldnt make a differnce who had sent him the email to me, in my eyes it a good thing he withdrawn the car from sale so now he can readvertise with true facts which for the car are still mighty impressive even if it did a 5 second 0-60

Personaly i just dont like the idea of people ripping people off, ye it happens but shouldnt be tears at bedtime if he gets caught out

Martin isnt bullying the guy, he is offering him a genuine chance to earn a quick 2,000 pounds that the guy can use towards his racing career in his awesome 3 second car.

Martin is coming across as arrogant, cocky, (and extremely funny), but he is not being a bully

You have to remember that in the role that martin performs professionally he has to deal with these sorts of wallys all the time, and if you dont laugh at them you would end up going in insane (or out of busines) wasting your time trying to gentley and slowly introduce them to the truth.

Personally i think id be more inclined to deal with him having read this thread not less, its cool to find someone who knows what they are on about but still has a sense of humour too.

Amazing that the guy on ebay obviously has a bit of talent to be winning the championship and yet lacks the basic understanding to know why his car cant really do 0-60 in 3 seconds.

I have read this from start to finish and the one thing that has confused me is, how do you know that the person in the photo is the owner of the car (if you DON'T know him ) and not his son, brother, mechanic, friend etc?

Surely the logical assumption would be that the person taking the photos was in fact the owner of the car (hence why he wouldn't be in the photos). Obviously if you knew the owner, you would know (like you seem to) that the person in the pictures is in fact the owner of the car....

I also see where you are coming from, but given the facts that have been posted in his for sale section, the all up wet weight (including driver) of a 170-180bhp car with the drag co-efficient of a STANDARD Fiesta (which this car with it's big front wing most certainly won't have) to achieve under 3s to 60mph and an 11.5s quarter, would have to be 240kg to 260kg. This is assuming that it was possible to purchase a suitable transmission to achieve this time. Given that we know that it is at LEAST double this, then ipso facto, it is safe to assume that the impossibility of these times. Unfortunately eloquent arguements (or not ), won't change the laws of physics....

Incidentally Ł2k says that the Mini never did 3.06s to 60 and another Ł2k says you never held that record*....

That's at least 3 of us now that have posted stating the fact that the car cannot do what it is claimed to do due to simple physics. That is simply based on the facts we know about the car. We don't need to know anything else as those facts are enough as again it's all down to simple physics.

I notice that he hasn't replied to any of our posts in relation to this, presumably as there is simply no way to make a solid argument against them. However I am now expecting some half arsed insult or or comment completely contradicting what I've said.

I do get the impression that people have very strong feelings regarding the way in which Martin seems to be revered on this forum. I don't come on here enough to be justified in commenting. I've never met him but I've seen his deceased escort a couple of times. Reyland seems to have an outstanding reputation and that escort was damn quick. I assume I'll now be labelled as a Martin lover!

Got to agree about Pugo and the seller. There definitely seems to be some connection there. This threads certainly hit a nerve with Pugo. The email replies from the seller and Pugo's post seem to have a very similar style to them. Whether any of this is true or not Pugo's gone way ott on this matter.

i just think its sad, that in the last few months i have seen a really nice bloke off of here have his personnal reputation and proffesional repution ripped to crap when most of it should of stayed private between the people involved, i then saw a what looked like a near fatal accident involving a snide S1rst and people ripped the shit out of the driver(i even read that the sparks coming off the n/side rear wheel were where the tyre ripped off......and it was a fookin alloy... ),then there was the essex rsoc incident and surprise surprise the guy gets canned, i then personnally informed people about a certain fuel and had the crap ripped out of me and i could see the fookin stuff going in the back of the wagon !!
I had enough of listening to a bunch of blokes slam everything that they come across and think they are special that people can not retaliate ..so decided to prove a point

I just read this whole post and I am now annoyed that I wasted 20 minutes of my evening.

pugo, you remind me of people in the HR department at my work (who are trying to screw my mate over atm.)

Several reasons:

1. You try and come across all high and mighty but actually have a limited knowledge of english, communicating with people, and pay too little attention to your spelling when you are making a point.
2. You are very, very, stubborn.
3. You are frequently wrong and try to cover this up with bullshit.
4. You bring up things that are simply not relevant in a discussion to draw attention away from your wrongness.
5. You try and advise people who know more than you about subjects, teaching your grandmother as it were.
