i thought the r32 was a bit of a dissapointment realy,
just feltthat you had to realy rag it for it to feel fast,
very torquey but i wasn't impressed,
but i'm more used to lag then boost so maybe just my driving style,,
saying that i wasnt impressed with the focus st either,
again torquey but not massive power,
maybe i'm just a fussy cunt as they're both highly respected cars

if your talking mk4 then i would take a mk5 GTI over it any day, much more capable chassis and the TFSi engine is ripe for tuning

Driven Both. I would take the ST any day!

The R32 is great but the V6 is just toooo thirsty and heavy.

That's true. My closest mates have 300bhp Mk1 Focus RS, 400bhp Mk 2 Focus RS, 345bhp Audi S3, a 330bhp Focus ST, a 300bhp Fiesta ST and a standard R32. Out of them all the S3 wins all day long at Crail. It's probably the nicest out the lot to look at and probably handles the best too

Its for sale on pistonheads, he just got banned! I'll see if I can find a link and it'll show you what he's done. It's cracked the liners on the block twice

The Mk2 RS and the Audi S3 were very close times at Crail, the S3 winning by 0.2 of a second, but that was last year, when the focus was 360bhp and the S3 was 310. It was all in the launches. I have some videos on YouTube of them.

Video of me in the S3 racing my other mates mk1 RS. The power figures I've put are wrong, the RS was 300, the S3 was 310 here:

A lad i know had a mk1 focus rs. He sold it got a R32. He didnt like it and went back to the focus. I would rather have a mk2 focus st than the golf. Why dont you just go and test drive the focus and the golf.
