Test drove a MK5 R32 DSG, nice car but just didnt do it for me, does sound lovely. In the end I settled for a MK5 GTI which I felt was better value for the money.
The St I have never liked.
If I had the extra cash I would have gone for the Audi S3.

What do people think of the DSG box?
I've heard mixed opinions, like there ok if you want to drive flat out everywhere or on a track but for an every day road car its probably better to have a normal manual?
Have not driven a car with one yet, the last paddle change car i drove was an alfa 156 which i thought was total shite, although i do understand the DSG is completly different to that!

I've driven an A3 TDi 140 with the DSG box and thought it was brilliant... pottering around town it was a lazy arsed auto that sorted itself out well, then when you wanted to go for it (as much as you could in a 2.0TDi) then you could fiddle with the paddles and get more involved.
Back on original topic, out of the choices, I'd go with the ST... but in the same position, I'd ignore both the original choices and go with the MKV Golf GTi and then throw a re-map into the mixer and rip around with 260bhp.
Cheers,
Grant
