Default DJs , digital equpiment mp3 mixing etc

I just dont buy vinyl anymore, cost and availablity of new stuff.

Now i purchached a ion icue awhile back, didnt rate it to much, lost the product code it come with so cant install the software now to my newer PC.

I'd like some pioneer cdj2000, dont we all but for a frontroom mix up, thats just a bit ott.

Not to fused about playing CDs, would mainly just be MP3s via a USB HDD , usb memory sticks and / or SD cards?

Got about £500 to spend for two new decks, or at that sort of price am i getting crap? will also look at second hand stuff too if needs be.

Got 2 decentish local places that sell Equipment, so will have a look and play, just seeing what people on here use / have.

dont bin the vinyl ,it will all come full circle ,i havent played my records in 5/6 years ,i have a set of 1200 gold technics with a roland dj2000 and poss 4/500 records ,but what ive heard is that much mediocre dance tunes available as digital download you end up sifting through 10,000 tunes discounting 90% of them as they are just crap loop based abelton stuff made in bedrooms .Whilst to get a tune cut onto vinyl it has to be able to stand up amidst the shit.

Would also be interested on peoples opinions on cdj's and turntables, are they a matter of personal preference?? Also what do people thnk of the audio interface setups like serato scratch live, on turntables to mix mp3's off your lap top. Still not sure whether to buy a pair of 1210's or some cdj 800/1000's

Most of the DJ's in my club use Rane Serato Scratch Live in conjunction with CDJ's or vinyl.

Works very well !

I noticed a lot of people at the bars and clubs in magaluf also using scratch live as that's where I noticed it from. Looks like a pair of 1210's and scratch live it is then, much prefer the feel of vinyl as opposed to cdj's!
