Default wot coilovers should i get for my fiesta?

Hi guys I have a 5 door mk4 fiesta with a 1.25 engine and have been thinking the car needs to sit a lot lower to the floor, what coilovers would u recommend bearing in mind im mainly going to be using it on road. Im also planning on fitting a 2 litre zetec into the car to make it a nice street sleeper, wot would i need to complete the conversion and wot version of 2.0 should i get because i know theres the black top and silver top versions wot version is the best version to get? Many thanks guys

Simply? I wouldn't fit them at all.

Stick with a decent shock and spring combo and keep the drop to not more than 35mm. Beyond this level the geometry goes on the wonk and the car drives worse. My brother currently has AVO coilovers on his FRST and is in the process of taking them back off and reverting back to struts and springs.

AP seem to be a half decent budget set up, or get 2nd hand would be my advise then you can get really good ones for not as much money

as long as the spring rates are right for what you want then they arnt going to be that bad surely???????

and im sure you could get the tracking back to waht it needs to be

ap's on the mk4 mk5 fiestas tend to crash about a lot. i had a set on my mk5 zs, was fine when i was round the country lanes but motorway journeys were terrible as it used to pick up every dip and bump in the road.
as said a decent shock and spring combo would be better.

Tracking will only sort the toe in/out not the increased level of camber. For that you would need adjustable arms and from.

It does sound to me like you want coilovers for pub bragging rights rather than getting the best kit to do the job for your car. I've lost count of the number of sites I frequent where people will bang on about coilovers being the dogs bollocks and then fitting them only to dump the car in the weeds.

As above really.... only time coilovers are any good is if you intend to track the car....

On my 2i turbo i run Koni adj shocks and ebiach springs 35mm works great....

It's nothing to do with whether it is coilys or seperate struts springs really, if the rate is suitable then they will do the job ok.
But I would probably stick with std type springs dampers etc, just use a decent name, but my advice would be to wait until you've been in some cars same as yours with different make set ups, so you get best what you want.
Coilys do tend to be supplied with much harder springs damp rates due to most doing track work also but you can buy softer springs and with coilys you can adjust the height to what works best, dropping on the floor may look kool but doesn't do much handling grip wise esp if you hit a bump mid corner and fall off the road.

Oranco its nothing to do with pub bragging rights I just want the car to sit really low as I love the euro look and was under the inpression to get that look I would need coilovers, tabetha would it be possible 2 get coilovers and ask say gaz could they suggest a spring rate that would be better for road use? The reason I didn't really want a shock and spring set is that if I'm not happy with the ride height I would have to keep changing springs 2 alter the ride height where as with coilovers they can be raised... Also it would enable me to run wider rims if I wanted 2 change at a later date. Correct me if I've said something that's incorrect or if I sound confused. Thanks again guys for your advice, if I need to fit a set of shocks and lowering springs what make would you recommend? And any advice about the engine swap would be appreciated as well. Thanks again

I would prefer to spend extra and get a good quality set up than get a cheap kit that makes the car uncomfortable. Also i've only ever heard good things about gaz being competitively priced and great quality product
