Default Drifter is already battle scarred - show us your battle scars

Only had it a day and me and mate went for a couple of skids last night in a very quite local industrial estate.

I was being very tentative as didnt want to crash it seeing as my mate is using it everyday but spun it on a roundabout.

Ended up letting mate have a go and he smoked the roundabout out and he carried on drifting, next he came to a bend and started to drift it but it snapped the other way...straight into a fucking wall

oh well im so glad im not the first one to bend it as we both own it and i would never hear the end of it.

Fucking 24 hours after we picked it up - dented

luckily damage was not too bad just a small dent on rear qtr, dent under rear tail light and scuffs on the rear n/s bumper.

So who else has done similar in a similar time frame?

No pics as of yet but will try and get some soon.

Got a few good pics of battle scars on my last cossie after a discussion with the tyre wall at coombe in 2006 - will try and find them

Get your self (and your mate) along to a DWYB day at santa pod. I learnt loads after going there comapred to pissing about in quite industial estates. Only £60 for the whole day and loads of good drifters that can offer you some pointers if you want to progress.

All the marshals up there are all drifters of a reasonable standard, any one of them will be more than willing to get you tuition for no extra cost.

get the interior stripped out the pal and sell it on

exhaust and induction kit always helps with the power

on some beemers you can change the diff to one with a different ratio to help acceleration, maybe you could have a look into this.....

my rs500 bumper was held on with a few cable ties on one end after i drifted round a corner and straight into a motherfucker of a pothole

surprisingly even when i stacked it at coombe it STILL held

Very common in the driftworld. When you clip something bump comes off but stays in one piece (unless the guy behind runs it over).

Used drift cars? Have a look here:

the guy on driftworks has a point about not making them not look like show cars, they do look sooooo good like that

do mx5's get fround upon for drifting/tracking with no roofs? or are they ok and with a cage it just makes them better?

the problem i had with my saff was a little bit of fear that i would prang it,take that away and the fun realy begins!

i bought this with the thought that if i boomed it ,it wouldn't be the end of the world.

bashed in the rear quarter good and proper last year ,bashed it back out and kept going.

the beauty of a dedicated drift car!...

Anyone know if you can cut the springs on an E36 as i been told they are narrower at one end and thus you cannot cut them

Jubilee clips/cable ties are your friend. Just cut the springs then ust them to attach them to the top mount(front)/ trailing arm(back). I know people who drift regulary with anything holding them on and they've never dislocated but i'd do it for peace of mind.
