cool and thank you, just a difference of opinion here then, ATB chaffe.

Will do 300bhp no drama, cheap to rebuild, readily available.

Given the choice between a 150 quid ebay turbo and a 150 quid secondhand garrett, id take the garrett everytime!
i already have a turbo, but thanks for the advice, i have a t304 with .84 exhaust (twin scroll) and .50 inlet, i think the standard .48 t3 would be too small for an engine that can make 220 bhp NA. i plan to run just 7 or 8 psi with a "slack" exhaust so as not to restrict the revs of my engine, thanks chaffe.

sorry but after reading that i'm confident that this bloke is a TROLL and likely a schoolboy who's just spouting out random words he's read on forums. i dont beleive that discussing this any further would be beneficial to anybody

no a restrictor will not help you in any way shape or form what you need is a turbo that is not leaking oil past its seals... lol

If you already have a turbo, just fucking use it then, whats the point of asking for advice if you are going to ignore it?

surely a 84 exhaust housing is too big and would be laggy as hell?

its posible a 1.5mm restrictor will help, most big turbos do have a little puff of smoke now and again, as long as its not really bad i would leave it.

for a low comp 2 litre, yes, but not for a 9.5:1 2.9 litre 24v, which is already 200 bhp, it hasnt got to work hard to make 8 psi. not like i have to wait for it to spool up to 20+ psi, you get me.

chaffe, you clearly have little knowledge of turbochargers, you are showing this blatantly when you are makingstatements that are partially true, but using incorrect "workings out" to justify your conclusions.

this shows clearly that they are not yuor own conclusiosn but simply something somebody has told you.

also based on that turbo spec you have posted above i would STRONGLY reccomend you seek professional advice on yor engine build immediately, as you have clearly either lied, or bought a completely pointless twin scroll turbo which will perform significantly worse than a non-twinscroll equivalent.

IF you have got specially made twin scroll custom manifolds for your 24v V6 then i will eat my hat AFTER i've taken a shit on it

when i make the manifold with my own bear hands i will post pictures of the two banks of three cylinders feeding the individual scrolls.

You have bear hands? must make working on cars harder, due to the large and hairy nature of them

im my experience from a specific supply in america i have used and sold to4e turbos for use on cvh and yb engines. i ran a held 22 psi on a yb for over 5k miles with no issues and dozens used on rs turbos and 1 on a let engine.

but i also bought some lemons i had 5 and they all failed very quickly from a different supplier.

i had a rr printout of one on a yb on greys making 370 bhp at 30psi. if i can find it il post it.

ok, please can you tell me what lengths (or percentage of total) is needed for each cylinder to feed each bank on the twinscroll. clearly you've already got all of this information if you are atempting to design and build from scratch a pair twinscroll manifold for the BOA V6...?

no they wernt older same style from different manufacturer. i wasnt offering warranty i couldnt but no one complained of engine problems. i have seen a broken shaft cause engine problems on a cat diesel but only because they run no intercooler, the turbo just feeds directly into the engine and a nut entered the engine.

i havnt seen it happen on an intercooled engine as any debri cant get through the intercooler, the exhaust never sucks so any debri there has to exit out the exhaust, the only issue i see is any debri running down the oil return pipe into the sump, but it would have to be small as the gores on the pick up will stop it getting sucked into the oil pump.

basically there good for the money on a budget build at sensible boost, but at 30 psi they wont last as long as a garrett, and tbh how can they at 1/4 of the price. they are not anywhere near as bad as people ASSUME and i say assume as most slating and critisisms come from people who in truth have no experience of them at all.

i dont and wouldnt run them on my last yb or my rb engine as its a pro built expensive high spec engine and if i couldnt afford proper turbos i wouldnt of bought it. but if your doing a cheap home build like my old 2k saph then knock yourself out i say

ps the to4e .63 is very comparable to a garrett t34 .63.
