I'll try answering seeing as no one else has. dont have an escos or 500bhp though

Mike R, Ranj, yum (will be I think) are/will be running fixit gearboxes. they are 3k roughly and come with a life time warrantee but there is quite a long wait for one!

some run quaiffe (efe, porkie iirc) but I THINK its a bit of a time bomb with over 500bhp. sean bicknell had r&d in his for a while but didnt get on with it iirc

you could get a skyline conversion - see zoo website for prices

hope this helps a tiny bit

I use a Quaife big tooth.........superb

The gearkit (complete LESS casing) is about £ 2,800 - PM Bernie Gearboxman

But dont forget, you will also need stronger/uprated front & rear diffs and casings

Phil..have you actually done ANYTHING yet towards starting work on this engine you claim to be building, cause its getting really boring hearing all about it without anything seeming to happen?

Chip, your being very harsh on Phil, he's done LOADS to make sure that this mega power project will be a reality:

You've only got to read Phil's thread titles to know that here is someone
that knows EXACTLY what is is doing:

"OK whats my torque figure gonna be?"
"Hey all - good to be back"
"New name - thanks Stu, reality check for everyone"
"Traction Problem"
"Public apology to Spadge"
"Public apology to Karl"
"Public apology to SECS"
"Boost to be turned down"
"650 + BHP engine now underway!!"
"GT35 or GT40 or 42???"
"Just ordered my rods and turbo delivered"
"GT35 on it's way!"
"Should I do the 600 BHP project?"
"Wish me luck"
"For mappers - a stage 1 question"
"Bosch Man/IMA is now retired"
"Swedish plenium just landed"
"Stage 1 is fooking great"
"Buying a Jap car"
"ECU situation is now resolved"

As you can see, not a single attention seeking topic
has been posted by him.

Im running 400bhp in my Esc Cos and am using a Pete Doughty (DPE) straight cut 2nd and 3rd gear box... Your looking just over £2k for it and the full straight cut box is just over £3000...

My old DPE box lastest 3 years of track abuse and 1 month of abuse from me But I did put it into 3rd @ 90mph and the input shaft (Standard Ford part) exploded...

Contact DPE:

Doughty Precision Engineering Ltd
115 Sherbrooke Rd,
Daybrook,
Nottingham,
Nottinghamshire
NG5 6AR
Tel: 0115 926 2073

If you contact DPE tell them Steve Fletcher with the Esc Cos sent you along

I've got a pete doughty box uprated input shaft, straight cut second/third/fourth and fifth. this is going into my 4x4 sapphire, the engine was built by norris designs and dynoed (Spelling?) by him and we got 632bhp on race fuel. The car is off to martin hadland for twin plate hydraulic clutch setup. then we will see how long the gearbox will last. most of the time the car will be run on super which will be 584 bhp. everything will be crossed
ps all the diffs have been uprated thick wall front diff casing etc, etc, etc
