what is inhumane about looking after a cat(s), feeding them, keeping them medically looked after. Giving them attention, comfort and safety? Keeping them in 24/7 isnt ideal but if they are allowed out to roam as 99% are.. what is the problem?

are you saying all cats shoul dbe left to roam free? un owned?

I would LOVE to see the amount of cat shit in your gardens if this was the case!

anyway, I now sound like a cat shagger.. and I am soooo not!

I love the fact you have put that yet found it highly amusing to post a link to a site where people were doctoring a picture of a dead child being thrown from a container onto a pile of dead bodies after the Haiti Earthquake.

Do you know what, did you not understand that was someones child you horrible cunt??

Back to the cat & dog thing its the owners responsiblity in both cases. If you have a cat and a litter tray then fair play and if you have a dog and pick up its shit, again fair play.

If a cat owner lets its animal shit in someones garden then its ok as its a roaming animal but when a dog owner lets its dog shit on the path they can be fined Ł1000. Quite right too but it should apply to cat owners aswell!

I appreciate that this is not advice you will want to hear, but we had the same problem until my wife persuaded me to get a cat!

Essentially, they dont shit in their own gardens, and they see any other cats of their territory!!!

I must admit that our lawn has never looked better.

Bit of a problem if you dont like cats though....

All the people saying cats scratch cars, no, no they do not. They walk with their claws retracted, so just the soft parts of their feet touch your cars. You'll probably find its foxes doing the damage, as it is round our way. Had foxes jumping on my car before now, never caught a cat on it though. Dogs, on the other hand, will and do scratch cars when they jump up at them, due to having permanantly fixed claws...

All the hard men on this thread saying 'shoot it' make me laugh, I bet that in the same situation, you wouldn't shoot it...either through only being 'hard' on the internet, or being so utterly wank with a gun you'd miss... Anyway, if I still had a cat, and I found someone had shot it dead, revenge would be had!

lol at this thread, I am quite sure that most of the drop kick and shooting cats comments are meant in a light hearted way. Any time a thread like this appears on this forum, the usual "shoot the bastards" always come out,as a result, the usual "inhumane" or "sick cunts" replies trot out, get a grip and dont take it so seriously.

I understand what you are saying as we dont totally know the capabilities of some people who are at the other side of a computer screen, the thing is, Cfoster asked a genuine question, he never said what is the best way to kill it, it was others yet again who jumped on with the shooting comments and another thread has yet again turned to shit. It does seem to be a common occurence on this forum lately.

Cat owners are selfish on the whole

Their pets spread germs in the gardens where children play, and they crap on the grass as well as the borders.

I've tried ultrasonic scarers and spray deterant stuff, but the only thing that seems to work is chasing the dirty little bastards and giving them a good scare.

One way to stop them getting in your garden, electricfied fence, anti tank mines. Laser radar detectors that are rigged to explosives

Ive heard taking a dump in your garden works too

Although, you could get a sprinkler system set up, and get a automated sensor. It gets the wife when she puts the washing out, and the cat

To the person that started the thread I guarantee the owner of the cat doesn't want it to shit in your garden anymore than you do. Most pet owners are responsible people & don't want to fall out with the neighbours over this sought of thing. If the shoe was on the other foot what would you do to stop your cat shitting in there garden???

Sounds like people have come up with some options that work that don't involve you slipping down the evolutionary scale like some people on this thread.

What a load of rubbish!! In what way are most cat owners selfish?

And as for them crapping everywhere, there's a LOT of cats around our way and i dont find myself treading in shit all the time.

Wether they are meant in a light hearted way or not doesn't matter really, there are some sick fuckers out there who probably would do some of the things suggested on here, i read in the paper yesterday about some sick fucker who set fire to someones pet rabbits ears!!! I mean, what's that all about?? What could you possibly get from doing something like that???

The OP asked for some sensible suggestions on how to solve the problem, not idiotic responses!!

Suprising amount of dog shit on the paths and in the woods though Cat's also bury their shit, so if it's on the path, it's going to be something else, like a dog or a fox...

1. You're really scraping the barrel there, I do feel like I'm being stalked though. Creepy.

2. Don't get me started on my beliefs about Haiti. It's just not the time or the place for it. But in any case, making fun of a picture is a little different to actioning violence towards animal/child or whatever.

So, off with you and carry on with your stalking.

I hooked up an old alarm PIR sensor/relay/buzzer to scare our neighbours cat away everytime it dared to stroll across our garden.
Did the job nicely and only needed it out for a couple of weeks.

So, off with you and carry on with your stalking.
If remembering and making one referral to a sick thread makes me a stalker then I guess I am.

You get all on your soap box about people suggesting inhumane things to do a cat but you deem it acceptable to take the piss out of a dead child being treated inhumanely.

Stalk you?? I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire you hypocritical cunt. The irony of you using kids as a reason to not kill their pet after what you found amusing just shows what kind of wanker you really are. I'm sure you'll follow this reply up with some other way of justifying your actions but I'm not interested so wont reply. Now I've been unearthed I am going to stalk someone else thats obviously not as clever as you and wont find me out after 6 months.

i fired hundreds of 25mm pins along the top edge of my 8 foot high garden fence from the outside so the points were through the timber to the inside edge . admittedly it was more to stop kids climbing over but it also seems to keep other cats out.

Dogs on the whole don't have the brains to kill a cat, so I'm confident unless you locked them both in a shed or something, this would fail. You'd have to trap it in the shed somehow, as it's not daft enough to let you pick it up. I've seen a dog chase my cat and all it did was go under the car and relax until it fucked off. If there's not a car to go under, there's always somewhere, be it a high fence or something. So when it comes to 'Stupid and pointless' it's not the cat.
