as far as i know, 888's have gone up and are not considered the best option for a road/track tyre anymore, i had some silverstone cut slicks for my track car, they were absolutely awesome, i'd give them a call to see what deal they will do you.
or another option is the t1R's which seem to becoming more popular and are readily available.

since the price of 888s has gone up so much you may aswell just get ao48s as the price is similar and they are a much better tyre

The AO48Rs are a harder compound, so take some heating up to get going, but they do last longer than R888s

what are the ao48r's like in the wet? i found that t1r's are fidgity on a wet track much prefered the silverstone's although they dont seem anywhere near as popular as the 888's??

I use them on my race car and find the nsf suffers terribly, might go for ao48's next season, after 7 laps they have overheated and the lighter cars start catching me up, the last lap is fun with me hanging on like i'm driving on ice and the lighter kit cars right on me sometimes they get passed and other times I hold them off.

I sorted out a deal on the 888's for a wide range of tyre sizes at the best possible LEGIT price I could, this was for 70+ tyres. When I got the discounted price back I didnt even bother to put them up as it was just still too expensive and the margin was impossible for the amount of lamour involved. Im sure there are now more up to date tyres on the market which are better for the same price.

Dont know if it's much help, but i'm using Avon ZZR's on track and they're fantastic! Done 2 full track days at cadwell (120+ hot laps) and 22 laps of the ring and they're not even half shot yet.
