Take down the old one and its make of ALLY...nice, so i weighed it in and got £65
So i got that on top of what i am getting for building the new one

My uncle deals in the stuff and never even touches it, just buys and sells, made a very pretty penny out of it. I get copper weighed in every year at christmas, softens the blow of christmas quite a bit.

Does make a nice little bonus though, paid to take it out, paid to replace it and then paid to weigh it in lol

Fancied doing it myself to make some more $$$ but I'm not sure about the carriers licence etc.got a good 4x4 and trailer but then u get tied up in this tachograph shit, nice sideline though.we get loads of gypos down the yard asking for scrap, their generally ok.one of the boys I know does it full time, transit tipper but he's not a gyp,he reckons every cunts trying to make a living on it and although the moneys good,it's getting harder to find stuff available so he's out a lot longer, travelling a bit further but he gets by.
He does a bit of rubbish clearance as well which helps the cashflow nicely!!!

i know a guy who used to remove scrap cars for a fiver or 5, made money both ways, bought new car strucks etc with the proceeds, nice chap too and cheap enough to not bother myself

There is money to be made but would need to be in it big time to make decent money! I would love to do it full time but as people say everyone is doing it now which does make it hard to find, but look hard enough its still out there!

I've started taking scrap from work and sticking it in my garage. I work for a large bus company as a fitter so get all sorts ball joints, wheel rims, radiators etc. Anything that is replaced on a bus basically. Not sure if you get much for mixed scrap but ill weigh it in before Christmas and see what I get.
