Default Unhealthy obsession with scrap metal!!

Just recently ive been obsessed with it even thinking of buying a drop side transit.........im a Window Cleaner by trade, turning into a right pikey!!!

Also being in aluminium I get a nice few quid a month in scrap too. Anything from £200-£2000 generally. Usually get a few hundred quid just in swarf.

My uncle deals in the stuff and never even touches it, just buys and sells, made a very pretty penny out of it. I get copper weighed in every year at christmas, softens the blow of christmas quite a bit.

If you no where there is a hundred grands worth then get it! Id risk being caught for that! Yeah copper is good money Ive got 50kg of it to weigh in today

Pikeys have the right idea no matter how much you hate them. There is one near me who bought a deralict farm and turned it into a mini scrap yard.....he is minted!!!!

I weigh in copper quite often but its not worth anywhere near as much as the Phosphour Bronze I weigh in as well even cast is making good money again, its all good
Does make a nice little bonus though, paid to take it out, paid to replace it and then paid to weigh it in lol

Fancied doing it myself to make some more $$$ but I'm not sure about the carriers licence etc.got a good 4x4 and trailer but then u get tied up in this tachograph shit, nice sideline though.we get loads of gypos down the yard asking for scrap, their generally ok.one of the boys I know does it full time, transit tipper but he's not a gyp,he reckons every cunts trying to make a living on it and although the moneys good,it's getting harder to find stuff available so he's out a lot longer, travelling a bit further but he gets by.
He does a bit of rubbish clearance as well which helps the cashflow nicely!!!

i was piling up aerials and alu poles to weight in but never bother so ive put em all in a scrap fiesta shell i need taken away, it'll go for free, if theres money in it good luck to whoever takes it

i know a guy who used to remove scrap cars for a fiver or 5, made money both ways, bought new car strucks etc with the proceeds, nice chap too and cheap enough to not bother myself

There is money to be made but would need to be in it big time to make decent money! I would love to do it full time but as people say everyone is doing it now which does make it hard to find, but look hard enough its still out there!

I've started taking scrap from work and sticking it in my garage. I work for a large bus company as a fitter so get all sorts ball joints, wheel rims, radiators etc. Anything that is replaced on a bus basically. Not sure if you get much for mixed scrap but ill weigh it in before Christmas and see what I get.
