new i-phone 4
i'm due my phone upgrade and dont really know what phone to go for i could pay a small fee and have the new i-phone 4 but have heard there are issues with these and some people i've spoke too have said there is not much difference from the 3gs i-phone which i can have for free upgrade but it seems orange only have the 8gb on there web site i'm still to call them and decuss the 3gs . but what other phones are roughly or better than the i-phones ? and why does it seem the price of the i-phone 4's price is set so high just because it the new must have phones. i know a few on here have them so your opinios please .

I haven't had ANY problems with mine so far. If you hold the phone in a certain way then yes, the signal does start dropping off, but I don't hold the phone that way anyway!! Otherwise it's just an awesome bit of kit.

The problems are wwwaaayyyyy overhyped by the Apple bashers. I don't know anyone who has had any issues.
I've also read that all 'smartphones', in fact any phone with an internal antenna can loose signal if you hold them in a certain way.
There are some good offerings from the likes of HTC and Samsung, which, on paper at least, are as good as the iPhone, but non have anywhere near the build quality of the iPhone. Seeing as everyone seems to want to tie you into a 24 month contract, the last thing you want is a phone that starts to fall apart after 12!
Go into the shop and have a play with a few.

I'm a massive fan of the iPhone 4... call quality is average and it can drop the occasional call but apart from that, like Porkie said, its other features are brilliant and I'm extremely happy with it.

I swithered about getting one but ended up going for it and it's paid off. Someone actually commented that I sounded clearer on the 4 than I did on my previous iPhone.
I also haven't had any of the issues that have been over-hyped on the forums and in the media etc.
Do it.

I'm watching films daily while having lunch, etc and the quality is very good I'm constantly using it for emails, Internet browsing, facebook, etc and listening to music. I make the occasional call
IMO you should have your phone in a case to protect it, so the signal thing won't be an issue.
Mine was dropping calls till I reset it, but I found out the area had reception issues as my mate on a 3GS had same problems.
I've had an iPhone for 2 years and upgraded to the 4. Not much difference you notice except how fast it is and screen quality

if you want a iPhone. WAIT!!!! They have delayed the white version saying its a paint issue. But many have suggested that they are trying to rework the Antenna. I'm holding out to see what happens before getting mine. Just hold out i say.
