Default stack rev counter help

i have just fitted a stack rev counter to my 3dr which is running wasted spark.
i could'nt get it to work via a direct feed from the ecu so after speaking to james @ msd he told me to wire it to the diode pack that comes fro the coil pack.
i've done that and now it works

but the rev counter is'nt moving smoothly when i rev the car, it seems to jump, any idea's?

They use a stepper motor so will jump, but only where the scale is small. (If it's a 0-4000-10500 style dash if you get what I say?)
