Any difference between a "bleed" valve and "Dawes" type valve?
was wondering as im gunna stick a bleed valve into my evo 3 track car, but i have a "bleed" valve in my lock up already, and i have read the "dawes" type is a better valve to go for?
i personally cant see how it would make much difference, so what are your thoughts?

a bleed valve will simply bleed boost off it is very basic with a dawes device it can be set and will only allow the actuator to open at a given boost pressure (eg. 14psi) this is the best way of managing the boost but i'd advice that you fit it inline with the boost controler for the ecu so that if it does over boost the ecu can control it, the other advantage of a dawes device is you get little or no boost creep. If you don't the ecu has no way of knowing what boost you are running
But remember theses aren't a substitute for a weak or worn actuator, this still need to in good working order and set correctly
