what a fucking joke!!
i do hope they get evicted when the maximum cap on HB comes in.
Theres no way in hell their rent is within the LHA tables. You are supposed to only get upto the maximum room rate you are entitled to on the LHA table. Any shortfall is your tough shit.
one rule for us, one for them again!!

Total cunts!!!but sadly it's not just asylum seekers that are the problem.I've got a good mate who's always worked the taxis, building sites,he owns his own home and car etc so he's not a mooch, yet his little girl is about to be diagnosed with autism and he's had to drop to part time hours as he wants to be there to help her etc.his mrs has never worked and her entire family have always been on benifits.
He's just been to the council to explain a change in circumstances hoping he'd get his working families tax increased due to part time and lo and behold their now offering him £2000 per month in benifits,£1000 a year towards holidays, free car etc. He's actually embarrassed to take it but that's what's on offer.he's asked them if he can continue with the taxi work as the guy he works for is a bit short of drivers and they've said yeah that's fine,it won't affect your benifits!! Thank fuck I'm emigrating!!!

kensington is an expensive place to live, for a single garage to park your car you'll be looking to pay £200,000, we had free dig's when i worked in the north london areas it was for the churches and we got a converted vicarige witch would of usually cost £7,000 a month as it had off street parking and about 5-6 bedrooms, just pure madness prices.
on the original matter it's just plane wrong and stupid, and can't believe in a time of recession our tax money is still being put down the drain feeding and housing people that make no effort in life to put back into the system

There could be an element of Hollywood granted but I know for a fact that the council where I am will pay more money to the rental Market if your prepared to put up asylum seekers than British nationals.it wasn't down to number of bedrooms but size of rooms, they had to be larger for the immigrants,I'm assuming that they would have more people in the house than traditional British families.
I think the crux of this is that we are giving so much away in benifits because of the labour government, political correctness etc that quite often it seems more benificial NOT to work than to work.

You can't blame these people for taking advantage - it's the liberal do-gooders that put these systems in place that annoy me. Why are they allowed to get so much? It just encourages more to do the same.

Your average joe if he wants to live in a nice area has to fucking pay for it.
Im not saying council doleys should all live in shit high rises and sink estates but its taking the fucking piss to think that as a doley benefit scrounge you should be able to live in one of the poshest areas of the countrys capital city
hell if they are allowed to do it, whats to stop ANY family on HB/LHA moving to millionaires row in kensington????
they did its not in force yet and wont be retrorespective i doubt.

Notwithstanding however that I entirely disagree with the huge amounts paid to individuals via housing benefits. Personally I even feel the £400 weekly cap being introduced is too great. It should be set on a UK average salary which is £25k, which after tax just doesn't allow for £1600 monthly rent. To allow people who do not work the lifestyle above most people that do work (that guy gets over £96,000 a year for rent, how much would you need to earn?!?) is grossly unfair and is a massive disincentive to work. The very fact that the Job Centre offers such things as 'better off' calculations to decide whether a claimant would be better off working than in a minimum wage job is ridiculous as it shouldn't be an issue. My only deviation from that is where the job would not pay enough to allow for essential costs relating to the job e.g. travel to work and childcare. Anything else is covered by the rate of the 'minimum wage' which is assessed as enough for people to live on.

the problem is the bleeding heart liberals would argue that why shouldnt poor people live in nice houses and that to force poor people to live in shit holes is classism in action
people on benefits should be entitled to safe, habitable accommodation and just enough money to live on. After all that is the point of benefits. Benefits are not a lifestyle option instead of working. The very fact that the system has ended up like that shows they pay far too much and make it too easy to play the system.

Every home has to have a "fair rent assesment", by an independant person, unless they have properties in same area that have been assesed, and then he makes a max rent allowance, so it would seem the rent is right for that area.
I firmly beleive the problem lies in this case with the council, he came here was granted assylum, then later refused a perfectly good home where he was, for no good reason, other than the stupid things he came up with, council should have said, NO.
Another problem is where the council will gaurantee a rent deposit, if he couldn't come up with the usual 1 months rent deposit anmd 1 months rent in advance he wouldn't have been able to move in, landlords are cashing in big time with the rent scam.

But why shouldn't those people live in high rises/poorer areas?IMHO beggars can't be choosers,I never had any government help to start my business and was told because this was because i was over 30,owned my own home, was not or had not ever claimed any type of benefit, was not an ethnic minority,or had not been a member of the armed forces
.I'm closing up now as I just can't afford rent/rates staff etc,the council put up business rates by 60%.....in a deep recession, work that out!!we get nothing for our business rates yet a girl we know has NEVER worked, drives an e46 325i with a private plate, got 4 kids who are all the height of fashion is now getting higher benifits because 2 of her kids have...........asthma!!!!also,how's this for an election winner,on election day everyone we know on benifits, sadly a lot of people, all recieved a letter from the then labour government saying their benefits were going up...now who were they targeting??

There is perfectly adequate housing with ALL the amenities they could ever need for much less than that.
I seriously doubt they can afford the local corner shop/supermarket prices in kensington living on benefits. Unless of course they are getting some local allowance or something stupid like that
I do wonder if they are claiming the racism/discrimination card from getting shit from other people in poor areas
And you can remove ex-forces from the list because they give with one hand and take with the other if your ex forces so you end up with no help off government and have to rely on forces charities etc. eg my war disability pension counts as income for benefits purposes so therefore i cant get benefits, yet if i apply for disability living allowance, then they count my pension as disability benefits so therefore they cant pay two lots of disability.... A contradiction of their own rules which state that disability benefits do not count as income because they are to offset the disadvantage of a disability So the forces pension cant be both income for benefits AND disability Luckily im not severely disabled. Imagine how much that will fuck up those severely disabled people unless someone stands up for them!!
The system is fucked up.
