Just got back from Autoflock Motorsport
Well ive just arrived back from Dropping of my dash and a complet Interior to Raj at autoflock,
The trip was rather a mission but i must say what a top bloke, who is massively passionate about what he does,
I was treated to a rather indepth explanation of what goes on with the flocking process and to be fair it makes a nice change for a trader to actually take time out to explain fully, n put mind at ease
I also managed to have a nose round at some of the other things hes up to, n must say im really impressed with he high level of workmanship,
Really please i made the trip now!
cheers to raj
now hurry up n get started i wanna see the finished product
cheers jay

Thanks for those kind words Tev, was a pelasure to meet you, simon and Jay.lol
Anyway onto more important things, yours & Rich's work will be starting today so I shall upload pics onto this thread and also onto your resto thread for you to keep an eye on. If possible can you give Rich a nudge about this thread so I can keep the pair of you in the loop instead of emailing pics seperatly.

Bloody hell fellas, thanks for the kind words, mean a lot.
Now to business, made a start on this project so here are a few pics, firstly I laid out the parts to try and prioritise which order to do them in, there was a few, here is some of the parts except the 2 dashboards and ther 3 doorcards.
There was a lot there :-(
Well a quick brew then it was off to the flocking room the begin prepping them.
For anyone that doesnt know, the plastics in most cars has been designed to be self releasing to repel particles/dirt from sticking to them. As a consequesnce of this no epoxy resin will naturally glue to this surface. This is where we use special chenicals before the adhesive is applied to help the epoxy gain a chenical bond with the plastic as opposed to a mechanical one. The prep work so far has took ages and my back is in bits
Here are some pics showing the parets before prep and then after prep, they is a world of difference, no grease or contaminantes left on the plastics which is crucial for gaing the strongest bond possible, its this donkey work which determins the quality of the finished items.
Some pics of them flocked ready for curing
Now they are under the heat at 30deg for a min of 7hrs. Again for anyone who doesnt know, we use radiant heat lamps as they do not move the air, if fan heaters are used they can disrupt the uniform in which the flock cures and worst of all blow dust and contaminants intro the flock.
Well thats if for now lads, I estimate another 2-3 days on this to complete so all should be done for mid next week.
Hope this is ok.

Crowder - Astra MK4 full dashboard anf glove box prepped & flocked Ł109.99
Tev & XR4 - I will be completing this project later this week and wrapping them up for when you are ready to collect them as work is hectic at the moment and have a number of other projects which need to be started. There is no pressure on yourselves to come and collect them, they are safe and sound on the storage racks. Just let me know when to get the kettle on.
More pics to come soon
Thanks for the kind comments everyone
