Default Buying a civic type r

Hi all,going to look at a 05 premium civic type r tomorrow and was wondering if there is anything to look out for?cheers

One of my mates had one of them for a while, only thing that went wrong with it was the front drop links started to knock a little, cheap as chips to sort tho

Think they are chain drive engines too so no belt to worry about

Howdy had 2 civics nowt much goes wrong with them Check gearbox is smooth second gear can be notchy when cold and the paint is crap and stonechips really bad

make sure the oil level is on the max mark on the dip stick and also that it looks clean too. K20's thrive on good, clean oil and can burn a bit when revved hard, but thats normal on them.

They can wear the inner eges of the rear tyres out quite quickly, more so if lowered but are generally good on tyres, with the fronts lasting about 12k miles if driven quite hard.

Make sure its got a full service history with services every 12.5k miles.

make sure thrust bearing is ok an clutch as they go ,changed two now both bout 50tho
but then my mate is a loony

Oil Clutch And tappets...

Although getting the lifters adjusted is not dear and if the cars tapping then its a good haggling point.

This normally needs to be done on 50k.

Ive had 5 And love them. Awesome car and far better than a clio!
