Default Restaurants in and around Norwich

Looking for a nice restaurant in and around Norwich for Saturday night. Nothing too fancy, somewhere between country pub and fine dining would be ideal.

Any ideas guys?

Are you serious?? While the Marsh Harrier is 'OK', its more like 'Brewers Fayre' if you ask me.

We ate at the Kings Head in Coltishall yesterday, we only stopped for lunch, but they do a very nice evening menu apparently. We plan to go back, having used lunch as a 'trial run'!! It's about 15 minutes North of Norwich.

I thought they were good because of its 'local' food, unlike Brewers Fayre.

When was the last time you went there? I think they had a change of management.

I like Yaxham mill, but it's about half an hour south west from Norwich.

I was there about 2-3 weeks ago for a family meal. It was OK, but definately not even close to fine dining. Same goes for the Showground. These places are just very average. Depends on what you're used to.

The Ram at Tivetshall used to be a good bet too, but thats been swallowed up by a chain and is shit now.

Bird in Hand at Wreningham is very good, not far from Lotus. Rare on Unthank Road is also very good. Fountain Bar and Grill on Earlham Road is meant to be good.

Avoid Norwich City centre this weekend as its the Lord Mayor's procession on Saturday.

Good reviews here but I would say that as I am employed by them

Thanks for all the replies guys, much appreciated. We ended up eating at the hotel in the end though as we were a bit tight for time, typical!
