Default PF Golfers!!

Need new irons, maybe even a new driver too.

Using Mizuno MX's just now, tried a mates Nike VR's today and didnt really get on with them but would consider other nike irons. Pref cavity backed rather than forged/blades.

Whats in your bag at the moment? Wood's and putters too.

My clubs are a few years old now but I've got a Taylormade R7 Burner driver, King Cobra 3 & 5 wood, Wilson Ci6 irons and wedges and a Wilson putter.

Irons are a real nice set......good feel with them

fully forged i3 irons previously owned by mr westwood

As for what should you get, you need to head down to a local store have some swings and let them see what suits you as what i might say might be no good for you but be great for someone else

Danneth i had a set of i3's a few years ago, not owned by westwood though! Always liked the ping stuff tbh. The Ping G15's are nice, so are the new Ping Raptures but quite pricey at nearly Ł700, dunno if i want to spend that much just now.

You been up at loch lomond before? Lovely place to watch golf! Fingers crossed the weather is friendly.

Ping stuff is good, ive been playing 15 years now and i honestly believe the more expensive stuff is no better then the mid range stuff, i only changed to these clubs because of what and whose they i play off 6 and before these i had some mcgregor cavity irons which were only Ł299 and awesome so changing to blades was quite weird ! i dont use drivers as im a massive hitter of the ball and only carry the hybrid for show really

never been to loch lomond first time up there but been told its pretty amazing place for the golf i know it always looks it on the tv !

15 clubs.... oops

Ive not played seriously for a while, only a knock about with a few mates so alll my gears a lil out of date....

Just go to a good driving range with a good pro shop, and try everything they have in stock. To the day i still havnt tried another driver which i prefer to my 975j, and thats just what i did with that about 6years ago!

I have a set of Mizuno Tzoid Pro Forged Irons, rifle shafts and 2 degrees upright with U groves

I bought them direct from Mizuno as a special fit.

There getting on now but are such a good set of clubs i cant see myself changing.

As a special set I have another set of Mizuno Mp-68s they are an awesome set but i rarely use them as you have to be killing the ball to make them work

BTW I have a full set of ping G2's with HL 3,4,5 irons.
Orlimar fairway wood
Mcgregor 3 wood(trusty old thing)
King Cobra driver
Oddysey 2 ball putter

Dont see any reason to change them for a long time. They dont make you play better!

The only thing i'd like if i get back into it is a mid wedge, as i hit my sand wedge 100 yards, but then my pitching wedge 130 so i need something in between as i CANNOT choke down on the wedge!

Titleist 983K 9.5 degree driver with stiff shaft
Callaway Steelhead 3, 5, and 7 wood
Nike Pro Combo irons (3-PW)
Cleveland 54 degree SW
Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Putter

I play off of 10 by the way but hoping to get cut back to 9 after my 76 (4 over) last Saturday.

Might be worth sticking with Mizuno as they make a decent range of irons these days to suit every player and every budget and their irons are always great quality too.

I'd take you up on the fourball mate if i was playing regular and off 10 still, but as i've only played 4 times in 2 years, (will be 5 times this thursday WOW lol playing Hickleton) then I'm far too hit n miss and tbh shit! Play off 18 now if i'm lucky

good stuff, haven't seen him but will keep a look out, it is tough out there at the moment theres so many good players, im at the same driving range as danny willett alot hes really come on to the scene in the last year

The weather up there wasn't as bad as the forecast but not great sunday it was nearly blowing people off the first tee they was sending the ball 60 yards right of the fairway just for it to come back centre
