Most of the bigish powered focus's seem to run Autronic. Depends who he is going to get to map it though I guess as with most things.

Ah right, it may well have a unichip fitted as alot of people seem to fit these (piggyback) and get them remapped. I was on about msd mapping the standard ecu, they offer a full live map on their website and a car i'm going to look at on the weekend has been so the guy told me!

all the big powered zetec engines i know run pectel t2 , very good and designed for the zetec engine itself. also used in proper motorsport so pretty reliable to
i think the ecu is around £650 and a custom wiring harness is £450 , people msd , ahmed bayjoo , field motorsports , scs , can all map these so theres plenty of people out there. ian howell will sell you the ecu and i build all his custom harnesses so we have done loads of focus's , send me a pm if you want any pics of harnesses or the t2 box

cheers paul

most ecu's will work well just depends on the tuner if you can not get the oem one remapped

His best bet is to choose a tuner first then agree on what ecu is best for him,
I have done several Vipecs and Autronic set ups on them and the last made nearly 500hp and now has a bigger turbo fitted.
