I have a feeling it may get alot worse before it gets better.
It's clear he is very very emotional about what has happened, regardless of him having bought it all on himself, as quite clearly he won't be able to see that.
I'd be very concerned right now if I was a Police Officer in that area that is for sure! I'm also certain this may well be a catalyst for all officers having to be firearms trained.
What with the Dereck Bird incident and now this it's abhorently clear that times have indeed changed for the worse.

I live literally 30 seconds away from where the copper was shot.
Me and the missus had been out Saturday night at a birthday bash and got a lift home from a friend.
We drove past the T5 on the A69 roundabout and not even 5 minutes later there was sirens going and then the chopper overhead.
Its quite scary to think that Raoul moat must have only been seconds behind us and shot that innocent copper!

I'd suggest that you won't hear any time soon as to the reasons they have been arrested because it's a live investigation.

according to skynews they have been arrested for harbouring him, they just thought the guys were being held hostage

The way the world is becomming is very frightening, we had 15 year boy stabbed to death in broad daylight on his way to school, the cabbie who lost the plot and shot a load of innocent people and now some mad geordie who has killed one person and tried to kill a couple more,
I am not condoning the actions of these people but the way the working classes are treated not only in this country but accross the globe is totally crap and its not a wonder why people go ape shit, as well as the working class this also can happen to people who are well off, cast your minds back to the lawyer who went ape shit around the Kings road area of London and was shot to death by a five o murder squad.
At the end of the day governments all over the world take money out of our pockets which seems to increase year in year out whilst the pay of working class people either stays the same or gets cut, they live a lavish lifestyle whilst throwing us bread crumbs, at the end of the day you can only take so much and I think in certain cases this is why people snap.
unfortunately and tragically when this happens people vent their anger/frustration/madness out on the people closest to them, their own community

If i had a gun i would most probably use it lol, i love that douglas film, i feel like that most mornings. The problem with this situation is the guy has crossed the line, some one is dead, he shot a cop there is NO going back from that, you might as well carry on killing people the situation will get no worse for you, he has life in prison now, kill another few people and you still get life. There will be another shooting weather its the cops shooting him, he shoots a cop or he shoots himself.

Bad situation... What dont help is the media streaming live images of officers going into buildings. How do they know he doesnt have access to a tv.
I dont think he is going to give himself up, and like you say its going to get worse before it gets better. Just hope that no innocent people get caught up in the situation.
Tough job to deal with someone on the move.. there must be containment points all over the shop.

Yeah the 5 0 quite often sit on the side of that roundabout as its a very busy route. The A1 has a slip road off onto the A69 and also links to the city centre (Although the city centre is a few mile up the road) so its a good spot to catch people out.
