declared war on the Police and said he wont stop until he is shot dead, wonder if the police will do that or take him down with a non leathel weapon like the baton gun just to p*** him off some more!

depends on the threat the police face.
remember batons and tasers are close range weapons and hence high risk for the police if the man has a gun and wants to use it.
i guess they could do rubber bullets Northern Ireland style! Bit more range then.
All depends on the threat they face at the time and the decision of the officers on the ground.

If he is armed with a firearm and threatening to use it, then they wont seek to use less lethal... Golden rule: Never take a knife to a gun fight.
If he is surrendering whilst still carrying a firearm then he will be covered with a firearm and with a less lethal option.
Hopefuly he will see sense and realise he is seriously outgunned.

see this is the problem. ive known of him now for the best part of 7 - 8 years, yes he is classed as a "hard man" or "someone not to mess with" depending how you would want to look at him as a person, would never had expected all this to happen so would assume something has pushed him over the edge,
dont help when the press report nothing but bad stuff about a person, yeh nobody has the right to kill another person but everybody has a limit, once its broken what are they capable of ......

Lol, always makes me laugh when people say "he was such a nice guy"....There's a brilliant sketch on youtube with Billy Connolly going on about serial killers and how everyone is always amazed that it turns out to be them, and no one ever says he was a right c*nt and i hated him...just for ONCE i'd like the press to interview someone that actually hates the accused!

What they are reporting as the final straw is that his ex was taunting him by saying she was going out with a copper and apparently he wouldn't have shot him at all other than her goading him on.
And, by that logic, and if this was America, you would probably find that the ex bint who's got shot would be up in front of the beak accused of kicking everything off.
Obviously here in the uk we are more civilised and accept the fact that women go bonkers and we let them off when they kill becuase of their "hormones" and the fact they they are women and have bonkers moments when they are on the blob.

you could argue the whole suicide thing in his case is cowardly as killing himself means he isnt facing up to the crimes he has committed. And if hes such a "hard man" then hed face up to the reality and do the rest of his life in prison. Although being a bouncer, a bit of a fighter and working out doesnt make you a hard man IMO.
exactly, how many "nice guys" end up in prison??

no, if your going to kill yourself it takes guts to pull the trigger/slash your wrists etc etc, where as its easier to get someone else to shoot you. And getting someone else to shoot you is cowardly as clearly you dont have the guts to do it to yourself and dont give a shit about the impact on the officers having to shoot you.

Believe it or not, but a majority of Police Officers polled showed that they didnt wish to carry a firearm. Some felt that they didnt wish to be in a position to take a life, or some felt that they couldnt cope with aftermath of potentially having to shoot someone and the effect this would have on their life afterwards. Some dont relish the fact that they could be appearing in court charged with manslaughter or murder when they feel that they have simply done their job. Can you imagine not knowing your fate for up to 6 years?
Firearms officers are taken from volunteers and it would be wrong to make carrying compulsory. It is also about a persons capability of using a firearm compentently. Everyone knows how to pull a trigger, but can everyone hit the target they are aiming at? Can they make the right decision when to pull the trigger? .. not everyones cup of tea.
I just hope no-one else gets hurt.
