Default Need a new engine for my MK4 Cabbie

Hi guys,

I want to ask you for some advise because I am a little bit new @ this engine stuff.

I think that I have a few options:

- Buy a brand new 1.9 RST engine
- Buy a brand new 1.6 RST engine
- Buy a second hands 1.6 engine and revise that
- Buy a second hands 1.6 engine and just use that...

Are there any other options besides these ...and does someone know prices ...because I am really new @ this engine thing...

I allso heard that I can get an EFI injection system ...but I don't know what is better ...the EFI one or the other one...

Thanks for your help guys !!!

If your cab was a late EFI XR3i then it makes it easy to drop a FRST lump in as the looms are nearly the same however Im guessing yours is MFI.

If you want an Turbo cabby best to buy a cheap doner S2 and swap it all across, or even better buy a cabby thats already been converted!!

Hi,

It was an XR3i from 1988

But it has allready been converted wit an RST stuff like cabeling etc etc ...

The only thing I need :
- the engine
- a Gearbox

I allso need to know what the difference between EFI & MFI is...

What is better EFI or MFI...

I think I have MFI now but I am not sure...

I am NOT good in mechanical things and before I am going to decide what I am going to spend I first want indication prices...

Thanks
