cosworth car horns
did cosworth offer air horns as a optional extra as my saffy has them fitted ? there proper ford ones they have te ford badge stamped on the air pump . mine are disconected as i really dont like the sound . but only one of my normal horns works and that sounds a little camp too .
where can you get replacement ford electronic horns or is it just a case of buying aftermarket jobbys ?

just go to a local motor factors and buy a horn. Ive just put 1 on my cossie the other week. Mine only had the one connection on which is the live feed wire. The horn i fitted had to connections on. I just made a bit of wire up and used this to earth the horn out on the bracket.

I've got a box of used Ford electric horns in my shed, all from Mk1 XR4i or Mk2 XR4x4 - they look the same.
They have two different tones though, so you will want the deeper one if yours is a bit "camp" - from memory, I think they have a code moulded on the side that would positively identify which one of yours is working.
Don't know what they cost to post but I'll box one and send it for £8.

if there the same as the saph ones there s one wire to the horn which is the live and the negitive is through the chassis if you get aftermarket ones that the negitive is another termanal on the horn just un a wire from this to a ring connector to the horn mounting bolt

I fitted a NAUTILUS air horn each side, these are a compact air horn with two short trumpets on each horn, 135db, seriously loud, so I went overboard as usuall, I would be plenty loud enough on it's own.
Just ordered a OOOGAAAAHH horn from the bay for the cossie as well, as my bubble gum pink caliper paint!!

it may just be the air horns dont sound that good because only one of the electronic horns fire off with it , making it sound like the horn on a clown car HARRR ha
